I chose the concept of Fountain of Youth to compete in a market that caters to a younger female audience often associated with yoga or vegans. This product appeals to a more mature audience that may assume drinks like this are not authentic. I want to convince beer snobs that this beverage is both delicious and health conscious!
The label of the bottle has movement with the asymmetrical wrap of a gold strip that overlays the jewel tone color which indicates flavor. I wanted to resemble the movement of waves to connect back to the conquistador's ship. This movement is demonstrated with a gif to get a 360 degree view of how the front and back label interact with each other. The watercolor textures in the background create a vintage worn in feel. It contrasts the solid black type of the title.
Juan Ponce de León's expedition is honored in the icon of his ship, Florida, in gold to represent its elegance. This lies in a circle tag of the cap to replicate the ancient wax stamps that are used back in the day as an official seal. The wrapped text states "A Taste of ImmortaliTEA," a tagline that divulges in the benefits of the product. The bottle is accented with twine wrapped around the neck to create the effect of an anchor's rope.
FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH
Fountain of Youth is the branding of a kombucha beverage developed around its health benefits. The liquid has vitamins, minerals, and organic acids that are beneficial for heart health, digestive health, and even stress giving the drink its nickname, “Tea of Immortality.” This inspired the concept behind the company name, Fountain of Youth. The old tale of a fountain with liquid that, if consumed, would make you immortal. It was discovered by Spanish explorer Juan Ponce de León in early 1500's.
