The pattern wrapped around the bottom of the can is reminiscent of the geometric prints often seen in the fashion at this time. These repetitive lines and curves mocked the trippy feel of a kaleidoscope, the same way consumers should feel when drinking the tea. The hand drawn typography of the title is bubbly and friendly to reference the type style of the era. This creates a balance between mature and fun to prevent an appeal to children due to the THC in the product.
While the psychedelic rainbow color scheme was well associated with the era, earth tones of browns, khaki and gold were very prominent during this time as well. It compliments the bolder colors such as yellows or reds and also brings sophistication into the collection.
This tri-fold packaging insert informs the consumer about the history of the company. The cutout of the front is the Pure Leaf logo in the mustard yellow that connects to the color scheme of the saTEAva line.
CHAI HIGH
CANNABIS TEA
Pure Leaf is a company which produces gourmet edible products. This packaging is for a cannabis infused black tea in the flavor, chai. It is inspired by the 70s because during this time, marijuana was a huge part of the culture.
Chai High is a part of my saTEAva line. This is in reference to the affect that the strains of marijuana, sativa and indica, have on the consumer. SaTEAva is represented by warm tones because it is meant for day time use as it increases focus and creativity. Black tea in general contains caffeine and helps consumers stay awake to tackle the rest of their day. Thus, paired with THC is enhances its benefits and compliments the effects to give consumers an enjoyable experience.
